PEACEFUL WORLD TEAM LEADER

Become a Peaceful World team leader!  Part time person to evolve and support Peaceful World, a non-profit international membership Foundation bringing peace building travelers together in conversations all over the world and particularly at San Francisco's Red Victorian Peace Center on Haight street.

SUMMARY: This position will play an integral part in the outreach and promotion of this nonprofit organization to local, national and international agencies, partners, and nonprofits. This person will be responsible for developing and managing a team of volunteers and staff in accomplishing all projects and programs at the Foundation, from daily tasks to special events. The position will be instrumental in developing and promoting the public image of the Peaceful World Foundation on local as well as national and international levels.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Build the Peaceful World team of publicists, project administrators, working board and members!

  • Build and supervise a team of volunteers and staff in all programs and activities of the Foundation
  • Provide assistance to Executive Director in daily activities, project development and planning
  • Perform general office duties, taking messages, faxing, maintaining correspondences, being “on call” during working hours to assist with various needs of the Foundation
  • Plan and coordinate events, maintain an events calendar, coordinate outreach to other programs and organizations that would like to host events at the Red Vic
  • Author, edit, and prepare online and offline documents, materials, and presentations for publication and promotion in relation to the Peaceful World network.
  • Help to plan, develop and implement a creative and strategic plan for the growth of Peaceful World’s programs and goals. Help to run publicity campaigns to promote the Foundation’s mission.

SKILLS REQUIRED: We are seeking a professional with excellent skills in communications, management, marketing and public relations. Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary. English fluency is required and additional language skills are desirable. It is necessary to be able to socialize with diverse individuals from all types of cultural backgrounds. Advanced office skills including phone, word processing, page layout and editing and internet are essential. Some knowledge of computer database management programs is necessary. Previous supervisory experience is helpful. Must be a self-motivated and creative individual, able to initiate projects and implement ideas to promote the organization’s programs.
